Please note that our adoption of TDA rules underpins and supplements our own house rules and in the event of any discrepancy, our established house rules will always take precedence.

Policy Revisions Tournament Structure July 15th 2019

With effect from Monday 15st July, two revisions will be introduced into tournament play:

  • Elimination of 25 Value Chips

25 value chips will be removed from all weekly scheduled tournaments. New levels will be:

100/100 100/200 200/300 200/400

Antes will begin to be posted on level 4 (200/400).

  • Big Blind Ante

We will be moving to a Big Blind ante (formerly a button ante) in all weekly scheduled tournaments. The player on the BB will fulfil a single ante payment for the entire table equal to the BB with 7 to 9 players, SB with 6 or fewer. The advantage in this system is that there will always be a BB at the table. When calculating and awarding a pot, the BB commitment will be satisfied before the ante commitment.

Policy Clarifications 2018

At players’ request we would like to clarify two existing house policies as they have non-standard elements:

Player Away from the Table

Poker

In tournament play, a player’s hand is dead when the last card is dealt to the button and the player is not within arm’s length of their seat. In cash games, a player’s hand is dead when action is pending on that player and the player is not within arm’s length of their seat.

Player Absent from the Tournament

After the first break, any player absent from the tournament for two full levels will be blinded at the rate of a SB every hand (unless BB/ante) until their stack is eliminated. Any player withdrawing from the tournament will forfeit their entire stack which will be immediately removed from play.

Fitzwilliam House Rules – TDA 2017 and amendments

The Fitzwilliam has adopted the amendments of the TDA 2017 ruleset (http://bit.ly/2yf1uPf), with the following exceptions, where a pre-existing house rule will take precedence:

R4. Phones and other electronic devices may be used at the tables only when their use does not disrupt the flow of the game.

R5. English is the only acceptable language at the tables while there are live hands with action pending.

R11. Final tables are exclusively nine-handed.

R18B. There is no inalienable right for a caller to see a hand unless collusion is suspected. To abuse this privilege will be considered a serious etiquette violation.

R22. The reading of a tabled hand and the right to dispute any pot award ends when the final card of the subsequent hand is dealt. Disputed funds will be ringfenced until a floor decision is rendered and will not be considered in play.

R30. In cash games, a player’s hand is ruled dead when absent from the table and action is pending. Tournament games follow the TDA standard (dead as the final card is dealt).

R68. Exposed cards will incur an immediate in-hand penalty of passive action only, and additional penalty may be applied after the hand at the floor’s discretion.

Whilst not respecting the betting line or forward motion, any attempt to pump-fake into a pot is strictly prohibited and a decision will be rendered at the absolute discretion of the floor (1st offence) or the player will be compelled to commit their action to the pot (2nd offence).

End of Month €270 Tournament

The biggest and best monthly poker event in Ireland is the Fitzwilliam End of Month Tournament, held on the last Thursday of each month. The EOM attracts an average of 130 players and prize pools in excess of €30,000. For full details on our tournament schedule, click here.

John Paul Jones DeJoria (born April 13, 1944) is an American entrepreneur, a billionaire[3] and philanthropist best known as a co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products and The Patrón Spirits Company.

Early life and education[edit]

John Paul Jones DeJoria[4] was born the second son of an Italian immigrant father and a Greek immigrant mother[5] on April 13, 1944,[6] in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. His parents divorced by the time he was two years old, and at nine he began selling Christmas cards and newspapers with his older brother to support his family. He grew up in Atwater Village on Garden Avenue and then Revere. He attended Atwater Elementary School and John Marshall High School. When his single mother proved unable to support both children, they were sent to an East Los Angeles foster home.[7][8]

Career[edit]

DeJoria spent two years in the United States Navy,[7] serving on the USS Hornet.[9] After that, he held a series of jobs including janitor, door-to-door encyclopedia salesman and insurancesalesman.[10][11]

DeJoria entered the world of hair care as an entry-level employee of Redken Laboratories. He was fired from this position. In 1980, he formed John Paul Mitchell Systems with hairdresserPaul Mitchell and a loan for $700[7] and while living in a 20-year-old Rolls Royce automobile.[11]
