Lotte Tour Development recently gained shareholder approval to move the company headquarters from Seoul and into Jeju Dream Tower. The company aims to achieve the full opening of the tower complex by the end of the year, including a decision on the hotel’s ranking and permission to launch the casino. Aside from hosting Lotte’s foreigner-only casino, Jeju Dream Tower, nearly double the height of any other building on Jeju, will feature a Grand Hyatt hotel with 1,600 guest rooms, fourteen restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck on the 8th floor, and a skydeck on the 38th floor. On a recent vacation in Jeju, I decided to check out the Ramada Plaza Jeju Casino. My visit was in the mid-afternoon, and there were only a handful of casino patrons inside this small casino. When you enter the casino, they ask for your ID, and then they make a photocopy of it.
